The City Hospital Breast Screening Unit, Birmingham have taken delivery of a brand new Akurus Mammography Chair from Wolverson x-ray Ltd. This was the first of 2 chairs bought by Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust and the other one was delivered to the Breast unit at Walsall Manor Hospital.
This breast care examination chair, which is mobile in all directions and has motorised height adjustment, is used for easy comfortable transport and positioning of patients during mammography screenings. The chair is made up of several segments including a moveable head rest which allows varies comfortable positions for the patient seated or lying down. Furthermore, in critical situations trendelenburg is available in seconds.
